So I've peeked at the newly opened contributor board and I've seen some interesting stuff there.
I'd like to post some of my stuff there too, thus this thread.
I peeked into the art style bear said he wanted and I am trying to play with that.
I'll post some stuff I've been working on here.

A few suggestions for/issues with the cryo tube, please don't take offense at them, they're just my opinion on how to make it better:
The bubbles should probably be more circular;
The top is front perspective, but the bottom is a higher perspective (the way we want it), the perspective for the top needs to be raised a bit;
The tube connected to the human isn't connected to anything else;
The human appears to be in front of the tube, it needs to be a bit greener to appear like it's in it;
The reflected light on the bottom of the cell appears to be coming from the front, whereas the light on the top is coming from the side;
There should probably be a bit more color variance in the whole thing, as it looks a bit flat right now;
The bottom part of the tube should probably have some kind of console on it, as people need a way to interact with it.

Constructive criticism is always welcome. It isn't finished yet as I wanted to get an idea if I was on the right track.

Here's a version I made, not sure if you like it, but I think I fixed a few of the issues:
