I figured i should probably start labelling updates so that they're easier to go through. Lets start with this one. Number Zero.
I'm gunna do a poll here, on how we should move on with this project.
Option A, Is to work on a fully polished game, rather than just an SS13 codebase. It will have more features, And will NOT be an ss13 clone. Yes, it will have some, if not many similarities with ss13, but it will essentially be its own game. For this, we would use another programming language. This would require some debate as to the artstyle and stuff, and could take a bit longer than our original plans, But it would be monetized.
Option B, Is to work on an ss13 codebase/overhaul. With standard 32x32 sprites. There would be a lot less of the features that i had originally planned to implement, but it would be finished faster, and would be less work for whomever. It would be programmed in Byond, etc.
Option C, Is to do both. Whether this manifests as working on both alongside eachother, splitting into two teams working on different projects, or doing the bs codebase first, then working on the polished game afterwards, has yet to be decided.
Make your choice.

sorry if I seem rude but WHY THE FUCK do we go back 32 from 48 ON PLAN FKING B. if we wre already freaking working on 48 which works and is better I mean if we go back to 32 then just use old sprites.... thank you

Yes, If we go with plan B, We will be using a lot more of the original ss13 assets, and scrapping a few of the features. This is to make it happen faster, etc. So i can get on with what I want to do: The standalone. But still come through with the other project.

Also, You may notice the large contrast between the two options. Its intentional. For a while we've been juggling between a mix of the two ideas. Now the two are relatively clearly defined.

Still think we should do it 48 if we do it on byond

Ok, as I mention in another post I'm firstly here for spriting pure pixelart. I love spriting pixels, may it be smaller ones or bigger ones - I don't care and I'm familiar with both. This is my hobby and I love doing this next to my beloved job which is also my hobby so no negatives here Anyway... I said im here for graphics and creativity. I liked the idea of implementing 48x48 sprites to spacestation13 with some changes to the code aswell to obtain another feel of spacestation with the ideas of buildstation in mind. But right now there's a major discussion going on where we're going, may it be unity, lua, byond, html and for the spriting it is 48x48, 32x32, isometric, 2.5D, is it a monetized thing or not ? As you gave us 2 options: stick to byond and 32x32 or advance to a standalone with it's own features and stuff. I like the idea of being a part of a new game and idea BUT to accomplish this, Null and the team need to be sure about what will be implemented and how it'll be handled. I know, it's your own project Null and you got your own ideas behind what you wanted to do with this project but with a team behind your back, as it is right now doing this all as a voluntairy work it is needed to work together to accomplish a big standalone project. Things needs to be discussed, eventually changed and adapted. Also if we're going standalone and with this, some type of indie, we need to see who will stay and still work with this project. I think with this decision it's also needed to get to a more 'private' state (with the forum in mind) to seal the overall ongoing out for a bit until the major guidelines are set. I said, I'll stay and this is what I do for now if we discuss things more, get everyone involved and don't forget, it's a hobby (in my case). If you want to go further, you all need to tell about the situation and what you think about this. I really like the idea of a standalone with our own ruleset. If we decide for a standalone we need to think about alot of things in order to get things done and also think about more coders. Today there joined some people who maybe will work on the coding and this is kinda nice to hear. Let's wait where things are going. Long story shot: I'm into the idea of a standalone IF it stays 100% pixelart and I'd happy to contribute further.

My standpoint is somewhat similar to Lorathor. Null you made it really obvious in the poll what you'd like to do. And me,I'd like to stick around, cause I am kind of interested in game development and since this would be something akin to that I'd like to help on it as a hobby. And whether it crashes down burning or it triumphs victoriously I'd like to see this thing play out.
Also on the matter of you suddenly changing your mind,it kinda caught me off guard, personally. Not necessarily a bad thing but I really wouldn't like to see something like that happen again, now when we are drastically changing direction of the project.

This looks to be rather one-sided already. I'll be waiting till tomorrow though before locking the poll, for those fellows who live on other sides of the world.

Well.. this explains a bit. I wasn't gone that long was I? Busyness and all with life. It's been a while since this was decided and although I was hoping for another code base, I don't mind seeing where this leads.\ I plan to help out, and keep my eye over here when I can.
