Hello,

    My alias is Capt Kirk.  It is a play on words for my actual name Kirk.  Been interested in programming since 2009.  The first language I dabbled in was AutoIt, then VB.Net and said screw it to VB, upgraded to C#.  Then I discovered Java.. and Microsoft .Net went out the window, for the most part.  Java has been improved over the years to be faster.  It is also easier to control exception handling in Java explicitly.  Although the memory footprint is slightly more then .Net, games can still be programmed in it and work fine.  Check out Minecraft, 3079/89, Spiral Knights.  All java games.  All perform exceptionally well.

I have a blog (inspacenobodycanhearyouhonk.blogspot.com/) I just started this month (October 2014) where I showcase some of the features I have been working on in a game framework with the goal of making a SS13-like game.  Without the mistakes and more features then you can throw a metroid at (because you don't pickup a metroid... haha.. lame joke).  I am hoping I can bring my work over to your team and see where this goes.
