Hi Nullbear. I like spriting, a lot. When I'm bored, I'll make sprites. Since Buildstation is using 48x48 sprites, I imagine that every single asset needs to be redone. This is sure gonna take a lot of work, so I'd like to offer my talent, even though it isn't world-class. While I'm not amazing at creating original sprites, I'm very good at creating variations. I believe that I'm good at modifying and editing sprites. Since this codebase is going to have a lot of assemblies, and since SS13 uses many variations of the same object, I think I might be useful. Here's some sprites made for a SS13 gamemode idea, called Machine: By the way, here is the idea itself: pastebin.com/i3PgRaAqHere's a guide overlay I made for Yogstation's atmospherics system. Not a sprite, but a pixel image nonetheless: Here's more of what I mean by variations: My avatar. I won't claim I made it all myself from scratch, but I turned it from this to what you see on the left. Also, I took this generated image and improved it in a bit. So, in conclusion: I'm okay with starting sprites from scratch, but I'm a lot better at modiying sprites to fit whatever they need to be.

Since a lot of the stuff thats in ss13 Wont be in buildstation, Not nearly as much needs to be sprited for it to be in a playable state. Most of the interesting objects will be made out of components, which could generate their own sprites. There would however be a weekly update or so where new sprites are added, to replace the generated prototype sprites for objects used often/accepted by centcomm.

We're gunna need a whole bunch of sprites just for materials... Right now there are four states for solid materials. (What used to be metal sheets, and rods.)
Bar->Sheetx2->Rodsx2->Coilx10->Dust/Powderx2
Mining would produce bars, which are useful for certain constructions, and can also be reprocessed into sheets, where they will find their majority of uses, then rods, cables, and finally dust, where it would be primarily used by chemistry, resmelting, or coating stuff.
There will be many more metals, and many more alloys, with their own unique properties.
Not just metals can be reprocessed this way, Some things will be crushed to powder instantly, some will become other things, like strands/fibers, etc. Thats MR's stuff to play around with, see what its useful for. There are virtually infinite possibilities with the materials, so there will only be a few sprites, given overlays, instead a sprite for every possible combination. The bottom layers would be smooth, and vary in shinyness/opacity. The next overlays would be textures or patterns. The final sprite would then be blended with a colour, to make the final sprite of the material.
