Woah, You certainly went to the limits with this one, Very nice!
I'd like to hear about this modified equipment, of course. Will you be joining the expedition?

The modified equipment isn't anything too fancy. I've gotten used to BestRP's expanded Industrial Backpack/Satchel inventory space. Modified web-rig just to be able to hold non-standard stuff, like Power-cells. Honestly, I'd be comfortable with standard gear though.

Hey now, the main buildstation corporation isnt that... corporate. At least not yet. There arent any mandatory jumpsuits or departments. Any particular person could be working in multiple 'departments' if they're cleared for it. The main corporation heads wont be on the outpost either, there will however be some appointed administrators, just not many. They will probably include a "Head of Staff", a "Head of Engineering", a "Head of Security"(Not nearly as juiced up as an HoS, closer to your average security guard. There wont need to be a security department on-board the outpost. The Security on the outpost will probably be equivalent to that of a college campus. This doesnt mean you wont need security, just that you wont have it. Make it up as you go.), a Head of Logistics, a Head of Development, and a Head of Operations.
There will not be a captain. But rather a "Board of Directors" at the HQ (On earth.) And Head Board on the outpost that consists of the heads. Noone is considered higher than the other, and their "votes" should be considered equal.
I'll be letting people apply for these positions, (Since they'll be very important positions for the development of the station.) But will only accept people who are actually able to collaborate together, and manage their department(s)
For example, If the Head of engineering cant keep the engineers from going off and building their own mini-stations everywhere, then he's no good. But If the Head of engineering cant consider his own engineers ideas either, thats also no good.
I'll leave a thread closer to the startup of the server for general code-of-conduct rules. Mainly involving engineering, and heads.

You read my mind. I was just conceptualizing a post asking about some of those points you addressed.
As for the jumpsuit, it doesn't have to denote anything in terms of style, position or potential rank. Function over form, in this instance.

Most of the people will be wearing rather casual outfits, excluding the heads. Since its a small crew, its expected that they'll become familiar, and you'll just know what department they're in. If need be, everyone has ID.

Wow, that's some fancy type work you did. That was a fun read. I don't think I have a long enough attention span to write something that detailed.. Well that depends, but still. That's pretty nice.
Anywho, couldn't stay quiet on this one.

What is the design/lore reason involved with the casual wear? I'm all for casual clothes in the work-place but I don't understand the practical purposes for running around in shorts or something; especially on an unknown world facing unknown dangers.
Thanks Matt, glad you enjoyed it! Stay tuned for more in the future; once our unknown user discovers the override password for some of the redacted information.

Haha, I'll look forward to it And you have some fair questions. I'd assume the clothing is for once a general small-scale station is up and running, and people can walk around in a pressurized, breathable, environment. And people hoping to forget the fact that they are in an unknown place with unknown dangers. *shrugs* Just another thing to think about as the shuttle docks/crashes (such an optimist) /lands..

The corporation just doesnt have a uniform policy, at least not yet. We'll leave that up to the crew. (Oh yeah, You can make custom uniforms/clothing.) There will be hardsuits for EVA, and a few generic jumpsuits for either people without clothing, or people trying to look generic/"professional". Everyone will have a set, but i dont expect them to wear it.
Heads will have specific uniforms, but they're welcome to wear casual clothes as well while off-shift.
I think how the first official round will start, I'll choose a time when the most people are able to connect, and it will be the "break stop" on the free station before they finally arrive at their new home. That'll be where i give everyone a quick rundown of the interface, features, and well, a tutorial. As well as host a few 'classes' So that people understand their specific jobs well enough to do them. Again, Not much is expected to be done during the first two-three rounds. But you're welcome to surprise me.

Will we have separate slots for lower/upper clothing?
|
|

Post by Nullbear on Oct 1, 2014 16:21:44 GMT
Yeah, Hoodies and such would be 'exosuits' and so you wouldnt be able to stuff one underneath a hardsuit.
I'm considering adding another 'underwear' slot too, though. Instead of having it permanantly welded to your body until you get cloned.
(If you didnt know this, at least on baycode, you lose your undies when you get cloned.)

No, not upper and lower in the way that current ss13 has it, upper and lower as in shirts/pants.

I was thinking you would be able to make your own outfits by clicking on jeans with a shirt in hand, etc. Or just wear jeans shirtless if thats what you want... But no i dont think i'll be adding a shirt and legs slot.
