I thought I'd start this, since it's not here yet.
Just wanted to start a thread to funnel discussion of possible species that we would like to see in-game. And what information about them. We could even come up with some of our own in here.
I'll probably edit this with a list of the possible species and some of the main points/features of the species.
Sound good?
(I totally started this because a creature similar to a vampire was mentioned, so I had to ask Nullbear about it.)
So it begins.
Edit: I'll probably make a topic for each species we want added, or make another topic for confirmed species we would like to see/been approved. Probably with a [Species] tag or [Official Species] or something. Just wanted to add that. Edit2: I assume the confirmed species will also be moved to the read-only part of the forum for official lore. (So I guess a public topic for the specific species would be nice for adding lore and such.)

Does anyone have any species they want to see in-game?
I saw there was a new species being created on.. I forgot the codebase's name. Although I'm not sure what's going to happen to it now.
I want to see vampires myself. But.. some nerfing needs to be done on them me thinks. At least on a certain code base.. IMO at least. 2 and a half bodies drained all the way and you get every power available to you.. I'm sure it would work differently on here though.

Yeah, but we wouldn't be able to just let anyone be a vampire; we'd have to make it a whitelist or something.

Certain species with special abilities I guess would need some kind of system in place before you could get it. Whitelist/Karma/Number of days/Hours Played. Of course it wouldn't be a major OP difference. Just something different to Role-Play as. Of course, there would be certain things you could do differently and things you couldn't do that others could.
Vampires, in Paradise at least, can't be among the stars. I'd say you'd need a special suit specifically for them. That might limit their speed depending on what it's made out of. Just an idea from myself based on what I've seen. You obviously couldn't do blood-taking related thing while in-space, well not with that suit on. (And without the suit.. well. It would hurt. Assumedly.)
So in-short, you wouldn't be gaining too much of an advantage playing em. Although there will be certain things one can do that another can't.
Well. I don't want to make this system into my own, or be wrong on that thought-line. I'll wait for Nullbear's input/thoughts on it. And what he's planning on doing.

I planning to actually DEnerf other and alien soecies, as well as give them much more noteable differences from eachother. Although, i will also be implemnting a system to make then much less orevakent. Such as a whitelist, to avoid having a population ruled by nonhumans. Humans are squishy fleshthings with a tiny biy of hair. They rely on the skins of dead animsld to survive the winter. Other species sureky are more capable, yes?
Sorry about the shit spelling. Im on my phone at mcdicks wifi.

I have plans however, fpr gemetocally modofoed humans, (oh god the spelling) to be more robust as well. For example, "nightvision" (more like low light) allows for you to see as though everything were one unit brighter. So in pitch black, you could see, though just barely..

Okay, Solid, sounds good. Genetically modified humans should be more robust.
And, yes.

I'm thinking about a genetically modified human where it lacks a brain, and is instead wirelessly (Through bluespace?) attached to a disembodied brain somewhere. When it's cloned it only has the capability to breath, and in order to hook it up to a brain it should involve a fairly long surgery (You could probably automate this with components). I may write up a bit of lore eventually, but I'm not the best at lore writing.
EDIT: I forgot to say, they can have multiple bodies that they can freely switch between, but they aren't able to see what is happening to bodies besides the one they are controlling, an easy way to see if they are controlling a body is that an inactive body is laying down or lazily sitting against a wall.

I faintly remember that idea from someone (chat ooc somewhere?). (Short on time so that's my reply to it atm)
